myLot Discussions| How can my husband get a job on a commercial fishing boat? | | He's wanting better money & he's had no luck getting a job overseas. Someone suggested Alaska, but what about the ones that go out of like Maryland, Texas (right?) is that an option?Also, how would I search on the net for it...like "help wanted" + fishing job or something like that...Any help is appreciated!Thanks!

| | Exciting and funny journey of 2009 | | During the year you could travel to a lot of funny place. Maybe you could meet some interesting story in the process. I still remember one trip. On summer my frinds and I spent our holidays on a sea beach. We rent a rubber boat and went to deep sea area. Because we were so pleased and forgot how far from the beach. When we notice that we look back. We all figured out we should move back. Unfortunately it began to rain and the wave was high. At the begining we did not care about the bad whether and sea wave, just kept rowing. One hour laten we knew that we made a big mistake. We were not close to the beach and moved back. Two frinds of mine were so scared and felt that wed could be drown in the sea. I tole them it was ok and we would be fine. In fact I am afraid of it too. We did not know how long we keep rowing. At this time we looked for the direction of beach, we just saw the smaller tourists than before. We knew we moved forward one step and were put back several steps. | | Dangerous Jobs.. | | Have you seen that program called "The Worlds Most Dangerous Jobs"? I saw one awhile back about King Crab fishermen and it was pretty wild. These guys stay on the fishing boat for months under very extreme weather and very hard work in addition to the danger. But on the plus side they earn enough so that they only have to go out once a year and then not work again till the following year.Would you work at that kind of job if you made enough money? these days i am so disturbed by such a disaster. things happened like this.
a group of freshmen from college were having fun beside the river when two middle school students fell into the river and were drowning. Immediately, one of the college student dived into the water to help. but the water were so torrent and so many swirls. In this case, many of his schoolmates also jump into the water to help. and others hand in hand to reach into the water. the two middle school boys were saved, but the students at the end were swollowed by the water. some winter swimming lover came rushing to help. they saved many students from the water. but three of them missed forever.At the same time, when the students were struggling in the water, a fishing boat were just at the spot and very near the stuggling students. it's said that the couple in their sixties overlooked the whole thing but refused to accept the drowning people onto their boat.even more annoying, when most were settled on the beach, out of breath, some of the students begging to go down the water to search their missing classmates, somebody came to the beach to claim that to... | |
| | My Husband's Transmission Went Out! | | My husband had inherited his step dad's truck earlier this year and some monetary inheritance. Not much but some for there's 5 kids in his family including him. However, to help my parents out, my brother gave my dad a very small fishing boat and was going to give it to my husband but hubby didn't want to take it without paying for it so he gave dad $1,100. for it. He's towed it around a few times as well as his trailer with wood. A friend of his had told him that once he gets going on the road to turn off some switch for towing and it'll save on gas or something, I don't know exactly for I'm not a mechanic. The engine light kept coming on so hubby finally took it to a dealership to have it checked out and they did some work on it and supposedly it was fixed but then the light came back on again so hubby returned it to the dealership and come to find out, it was the transmission! What hubby's friend had told him was not right at all. When towing something, he's to have that button for towing turned on at all times because it sends more transmission fluid to something.... and cools the transmission down and because it wasn't on when he did the towing, it burned up his transmission!... | |
