Resource Handbook for Living, Working and Playing in Kootenay Wild $10,000

The Resource Handbook for Living, Working and Playing in Kootenay Wild is a youth-driven project to address a regional need for educating the general public about jobs and tourism in the environment of the Kootenays. Working in partnership with youth, resource sectors, local First Nations, community members and advisors from throughout the Regional Districts of Central Kootenay, East Kootenay, and Kootenay Boundary. We will produce an artistic, informative, and celebratory resource handbook to intrigue residents and travelers alike. Proceeds from the sale of the handbook will go back towards CKFRP initiatives and job creation of young people. Goals for this project are as follows:

1. To promote access to community resources and knowledge which will invigorate ideas about innovative work and entrepreneurial opportunities in the Kootenay Region.
2. To work with resources, tourism, non-profit and government sectors to encourage participation in sustainable activities within the natural ecosystem.
3. To acknowledge, celebrate, and promote understanding of individuals' roles in our community, economy and environment.
4. To involve many members of the community, but especially youth (including First Nations youth), in implementation of this project by their direct involvement in the production of the Resource Handbook.
