CKFRP Community
Support and Project Monitoring and Evaluation $89,551
The goal of this
project is to provide technical and professional assistance
in support of community-driven proposals. Community groups are
defined as First Nations, Interest Groups, local governments
or a collection of individual users. In the development of the
CKFRP, technical support for community initiatives was identified
as a high priority from both government agency and community
perspectives. This extension service is intended to ensure that
proposals are technically sound, scientifically defensible,
and financially accountable. Proposal goals and objectives are
further expected to be compatible with provincial and federal
fisheries management goals and objectives. The extension service
will foster a collaborative approach between proponents, communities,
and the regulatory agencies. Partnerships between groups and
opportunities for co-funding are highly encouraged.
