Columbia Kootenay Fisheries Renewal Partnership

Little Slocan River Stewardship $1,410

The project will consist of a community presentation on Fish Habitat Restoration (see attached) given by the environmental biologist who originally assessed the slide and worked with a community group - Slocan Valley Equal Access to Resources (SVEAPERS) on initial restorative efforts. Following the presentation and under the guidance of the biologist, a group of boy scouts and local residents will cut and prepare willow branches for planting. The branches will then be planted on barren sites in the Passmore landslide. The owners of the land, Wayne and Sue Harder, are pleased to have the planning take place and have been given a copy of this proposal. Periodic inspections of the slide will be made by the scouts to assess conditions and make recommendations for further work, This project meets the needs identified in the "fish in the river" community outreach project and is supported by members of this group
