Across
Cultures: Students Learning about Fisheries and Stewardship
Students
in First Nations 12, Social Studies 10 and Grade 4 will learn
about cultural perspectives of fishing resources, environmental
stewardship and sustainability. Students will gain hands-on
experience and enhance their knowledge of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc
people in the area by going on day trips and overnight camps
to learn about fisheries projects, environmental stewardship
and other cultural practices. This project is running concurrently
in Cranbrook and Fernie, and each has received $2,500 in funding
from CKFRP.
