Closing the Gap - A Youth to Elders' Forum

The Ktunaxa Kinbasket Treaty Council is in the process of creating a forum where Ktunaxa Nation members young and old can exchange inter-generational knowledge on cultural values and environmental stewardship. In many communities, the generation gap is so wide that younger generations are either not receptive or are not given the opportunity to learn traditional languages, plant and animal knowledge, survival skills or environmental stewardship from their elders. With $10,300 funding from CKFRP, the council will design a program that uses ethnobiology as an exciting medium for information sharing between youth, adults and elders.
