East Kootenay Grassland Stewardship Program

The Land Conservancy of BC (TLC) is using its $14,000 in CKFRP funding to educate landowners in the East Kootenay about the importance of grassland habitats for wildlife. TLC staff, together with the landowner, will map each property and identify plants and animals. They will also discuss local ecology, threats to grasslands and management options. The objective of the program is to raise awareness of grasslands and to provide landowners with the information and resources they need to maintain or enhance wildlife habitat on their property.
