Sand Creek Restoration & Education

Sand Creek supports resident and spawning populations of a variety of trout species, mountain whitefish and kokanee. Settlement, land clearing, agricultural activities and flood control have left a legacy of declining fish populations and loss of creek-side habitat. The Sand Creek Restoration Group, with $50,000 in funding from CKFRP, plans to restore stream and creek-side habitat following detailed plans developed last year.
