Columbia Kootenay Fisheries Renewal Partnership

Skattebo Woodlot Restoration

First year students in the Integrated Environmental Technology Program at the Castlegar campus of Selkirk College will plan and carry out a restoration plan for the Skattebo woodlot, a piece of property near the community of Glade. The property, which is owned by the college, has been used as an illegal dump site for many years. The waste threatens the adjacent Kootenay River, and the project will restore the area to a healthier and more natural condition. CKFRP has funded the project with nearly $4,000 for the 2001-02 school year.
