Wilde
Creek Community Interpretive Site Development
Salmo's
Wilde Creek is littered with domestic garbage and blocked by
wood debris. Students in a variety of classes and grades at
Salmo Secondary will gain hands-on experience with stream ecology,
biology and habitat recovery. Students in science, biology,
chemistry, welding, construction and work experience will perform
a variety of tasks as they clean up the creek. They will also
develop a website, interpretive signs, news articles, video
and visual presentations, and encourage elementary school involvement.
This project has received $7,850 in funding from CKFRP for the
2001-02 year.
