Wild
Voices for Kids
WVFK
is an environmental/heritage education program that connects
students (in Rocky Mountain district #6) to the landscape, history
and culture of the Columbia Basin. Through classroom presentations
and field trips with environmental experts, school children
of all ages will get diverse, hands-on field experience. Canoe
trips, trout programs, kokanee spawning field trips, wetland
field trips and more will connect students with aquatic ecosystems
and provide them with the tools and knowledge to become effective
stewards of the environment. With $12,000 in funding this year
from CKFRP, WVFK hopes to reach 4,500 student or 150 classes
in the Rocky Mountain School District.
