Youth
Practicing Watershed Stewardship
The
Blue Lake Forest Education Society in Canal Flats is running
an environmental education program in conjunction with its usual
summer camps with the $5,848 in funding from CKFRP. The program,
for youth age 7 to 14, will teach the components of aquatic
ecosystems, case studies and watershed stewardship. It also
provides funding for a student coordinator who will gain direct
experience. The project will instill the basic knowledge and
skills necessary to conduct ecological case studies for lakes
and streams and stewardship awareness.
