Elk River Restoration Project - $4,947

This project is intended to provide restoration to a portion of the Elk River riparian area in a high visibility and high use area along the City trail corridor. Indigenous shrubs and trees, replicating adjacent trail vegetation, will be planted using proven riparian restoration techniques. City staff, volunteers and experienced professionals will be utilized to complete the project. Initial project designs and planning have been discussed with the CKFRP. Interpretive and educational signs will also be erected along the treatment area. The project area includes a portion of a rip-rapped recreational trail and abandoned parking lot adjacent to the Elk River. The lineal distance is approximately 100 meters.
