Yellow Fish Road Awareness Program - $700

Students in Mr. Wilson’s grade 4 class at Gordon Terrace will investigate what happens to water when it goes down the storm sewer. They will locate and paint each storm sewer in the Gordon Terrace catchment area with a yellow fish sign. They will also design pamphlets explaining the significance of the yellow fish signs and distribute to each household in the Gordon Terrace catchment area (approximately 600 homes). They will also make presentations to classes at Gordon Terrace and neighbouring schools to inform students about the Yellow Fish Road Program. It is hoped that other schools will implement similar Yellow Fish Road Programs in their schools with support from staff and students at Gordon Terrace. Students will also investigate and monitor the effects of the outflow from the storm sewers on the plant and animal life at Elizabeth Lake.
