Kaslo Back to the Earth Community Composting Project - $8,500

The Kaslo “Back to the Earth” Community Composting Project will collaborate with the local residents, businesses and schools in an effort to reduce the amount of waste material being disposed of in to the landfill. This project is designed to recycle compost materials, by removing them from the waste stream, while producing high quality, nutrient-rich compost for use in local gardens and landscaping. Through education, stewardship, and resource conservation this initiative will encourage positive change in understanding, behaviour and direct action within the community of Kaslo. This Community Composting Project will help to portray the Village of Kaslo, B.C. as leaders in a growing movement towards environmental sustainability and community stewardship.
