UPPER
COLUMBIA WHITE STURGEON ANGLER OUTREACH
Upper
Columbia White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative c/o Columbia-Kootenay
Fisheries Renewal Partnership - (Castlegar, BC)
$9,450.00
The
Upper Columbia White Sturgeon Angler Outreach project is an
angler contact program that will provide information on habitat
and gear selection of anglers to minimize incidental catch of
white sturgeon. Juvenile sturgeon released to the Columbia River
have become large enough to be susceptible to angling techniques,
in particular those used for walleye. This project focuses on
providing information to avoid incidental catch and handling
techniques that will reduce mortalities when incidental captures
do occur.
