EXTENSION OF MOUNTAIN CARIBOU RESEARCH
Serrouya & Associates - (Revelstoke, BC)
$8,910.00

Mountain Caribou are an endangered species that are edemic to British Columbia and in the Columbia Basin, they are declining at a rate of 8-10% annually. This project will use the experience of mountain caribou researchers and public school educators to bridge the gap between science and the public, to present a balance view of threats and recovery options for mountain caribou to children in grades 4,7 and 11. After a sucessful pilot year, our new goal is to bring the mountain caribou presentation to at least 25 different grade 4,7 and 11 classrooms or summer camps in the Columbia Basin area and make the program self-sustaining by providing teachers with the material to deliver the program on their own.
