MARK CREEK RECOVERY PROJECT 2006-2007

The current project builds on the MCRP's past successes to continue to conserve and restore ecological functioning of the Mark Creek ecosystem and to increase community members' environmental awareness of the importance of our water resources. New 06/07 initiatives include: design for a WCT rearing channel, genetic testing of WCT, launching a community "Ecofit" program that integrates ecological restoration and fitness activities, creating a water model to predict the effects of future development on stream flows and continued hands-on school and community programming.
