ROCKY
MOUNTAIN EDUCATION SERIES
Wildsight-Elk
Valley Branch - (Fernie, BC)
$10,000.00
The
Rocky Mountain Education Series is designed to facilitate learning
experiences for local youth (grades 4-12), which promote responsible
citizenship, entrepreneurship, and encourage environmental responsibility,
while providing youth with confidence, experience, knowledge
and skills. Two educational programs will be delivered: the
Zero Waste Program and Beyond Recycling Program. Both programs
will promote understanding and awareness of local waste issues,
explore creative solutions to minimize and utilize waste, and
ultimately empower young people to make a difference locally
while addressing issues that are of concern on a global level.
These programs culminate in a community based education event,
the Community Gala Eco-Event, which will offer an excellent
opportunity to showcase solutions and highlight the creativity
of students, while simultaneously advocating the importance
of re-utilization.
