The Lake Windermere Project (LWP) is a 5-year, multi-stakeholder stewardship initiative, started in 2005, to safeguard Lake Windermere. Led by Wildsight, the project represents the interests and actions of more than a dozen partners, including all levels of Canadian government, area NGO's and the public.

The project emphasis is protecting and enhancing the quality of Lake Windermere by means of inter-agency cooperation, scientifically sound water quailty monitoring , and through public education and engagement.
