Wild Voices for Kids - $5,000
Wings Over the Rockies Bird Festival
Invermere, BC

The Wild Voices for Kids program (WVFK) was developed in 1997, as an environmental/heritage education program, which connects students to the land, history and culture of the Columbia Basin. WVFK did very well again last year providing 100 classes / 2440 students with programs from 28 presenters and 46 presentations /field trips offered, as well as education resource kits made available to teachers and presenters. But most importantly more children (65 classes/1625 students) in the school district are getting out into nature and experiencing first hand the wonders of their backyard; receiving first hand intimate knowledge of nature; which can ignite for a child a lifetime of stewardship values.
