Cottonwood
Creek CPR Land Riparian Project - $2,472
Nelson
and District Rod and Gun Club
Nelson, BC
Two knowledgeable personnel (preferably
Selkirk College IEP students or other experienced technicians)
will be hired with the aid of an Integrated Planning Instructor
or a Stewardship Advisor to develop a comprehensive ‘blueprint
for this riparian zone .The riparian zone would be 12 meters
(or 36 feet) wide on each side of the CWC box culvert located
on CPR property. The length of the zone would extend from the
NDR&GC weirs to the CPR tracks (approximately 110 meters).
The plan would include the use of native evergreen and deciduous
trees, shrubs, grasses and other materials found in a forest
that would simulate a forest. Also improvements are needed in
the riparian zone from Lakeside Drive Bridge to the box culvert.
